To Series or Not To Series

Don’t you hate it when you open up a book and you find it’s book 4 in a 6 book series.  You don’t realise it at the time when you purchase it, you just recognise the author as one of your favourite so they’re an automatic buy.

I recently had that happen.  My dilemma was, do I go back and buy the books or do I just read this book and be done with it.  I decided to just read the book and be done with it.  Of course, once I finished the book I had to find out about his twin brother and his story. And the mysterious cousin and the other people involved in the series. So I ended up going back and purchasing the books I’d missed.  I guess that’s the advantage of having an e-reader, it’s cheaper than trying to find them on amazon and waiting for them to arrive.

I haven’t read the other books yet, but I will. I’ve got over 100 books on my e-reader.  Guess it’s going to take me a while to get to them.  I hope I’m not too disappointed with the series.

So what do you do when you discover a book in the middle of a series, or even the first book of a series, do you go and find the rest or just read the book and move on?
