Squeezing Everything In

Life, like that dress you bought a while ago, can squeeze you in all the wrong places. And as much as you want to deny that maybe you need the next dress size up, you realise that you can’t do everything. Sometimes you just have to give up and sit on the couch with a good book.

As a wife, mother, employee and author in training finding the time to fit everything in is a challenge. All your good intentions fly out the window when a child becomes sick or the homework is multiplying mixed number fractions with uncommon denominators – a math task that has been over 20 years or more since I looked at.  Thank goodness for Google and You Tube is all I can say when it comes to Fraction sums!

So that good intention to sit down in the evening and write flies out the window. Your brain is mush and you’re tired.

Now for me, school is ending and my delightful, sooo well behaved children *cough* will be off for 12 weeks.  Yes that’s right 12 weeks!!  (Can I be a kid again). Fitting in writing will be done around trips to the swimming pool and as much as I’d love to take my e-reader and indulge in hours of reading, I’m going to take the iPad and indulge in hours of torture as each word will sometimes be drawn out of me, like blood from a stone.

As I said previously, I have a plan and to fulfill that plan I’m going to have to knuckle down. I may not be able to squeeze everything in, but I’ll give it a good try and maybe I’ll lose a little of that excess flab and fit into that dress!
