Well Day 2 was a quiet day for me. Vicky had to dash off to the Beau Monde conference as she was presenting so I decided to do what any sane person does while they are away – go to the fitness centre and run! I’ve started a running program and I didn’t want to lose my momentum so I decided why not. Before I did I thought I’d register and get my conference bag and goodies. The best thing about conference are the goodies you received in the goody bag. This year was no different with some fantastic books. The bag was also a decent size too which proved very handy when we hit Disneyland.
As I’m lining up to register I look over to the “A” line and who should I see, but Donna Alward! This was becoming a habit. She decided that I was going to be the person she runs into the most at conference.
I registered and hit the fitness centre. First run on the treadmill and I did well – I managed to stay on and not fall off – YAY Me!! Of course as I’m walking out looking all sweaty I see Donna again at Starbucks – can you see the trend here?
Next item on the agenda was checking out where the hotel was that we would be staying in when my family arrived and we hit Disneyland. It was a warmish day and I decided to wear jeans – not the best idea! Found we were right opposite Disneyland – so excited I had to take a photo to send to hubby. Oh and I managed to run into Donna again a couple of times. I think we determined that I was now her official conference stalker! It proved easy for me to achieve this when it was discovered that she was in the room next door to me! I love Donna!
Wednesday night was the Literacy Signing you had a roomful of authors signing. Magic! I had my map and made my way around visiting my West Houston Authors, Twitter & Facebook authors, Aussie authors and New Zealand authors. I knew then I’d be getting a box to send books home, I couldn’t fit them in my luggage!! I also got some wonderful messages inside the books I had signed.
A quiet night with some friends in the bar and that was the day done. Needed an early night to get ready for the first full day of conference the next day!
