Pondering things…

In my last post I was reflecting on all the things that happened during 2012. After I posted it I realised there was so much more I wanted to say but didn’t – isn’t that always the way!

2012 was a pretty big year from June onwards for me. If you follow me you’d know that that was when I got offered the contract with Crimson Romance for “Masquerade”.  I don’t think I’ll ever forget that day.

When I started out 2012 it was always a hope and dream, like every other year, that this would be the year that I’d have a book out. As it turned out it came true. Most amazing thing is that by the end of 2012 I had contracted not 1 book but 3 books.

I haven’t said much about my second offer by Escape Publishing. A new publisher to the digital world but forms part of a much older publisher. Escape is the digital arm of Harlequin Australia. Can I just say it’s always been my dream to be published by Harlequin.  I’m still working towards being print published with them too.

Escape offered me a contract on 25th October 2012, just 3 days after Masquerade released. It was an amazing feeling to be say that I was going to be multi-published and with two publishers. Escape didn’t launch until 14th November so I couldn’t say much and then I waited until my contract arrived before I said anything. This book “Bound by Her Ring” will be released on 1st February 2013!  So exciting.

Then a month later I got the wonderful news that Crimson wanted my next story – Rescuing Dawn. If you’ve read Masquerade you’ll know that Dawn was a minor character in that story. But she was a character that evolved the more I thought about her. She had such a tragic past that I knew I needed to give her a new beginning. I’m madly editing that one.

So now I’m pondering what’s next in my journey. Masquerade should hopefully come out in “Print on Demand” form soon and it will be nice to have it in paperback in my hand. A nice surprise as I wasn’t expecting print when I signed with Crimson.

One thing I know for sure, my journey as a writer is just starting. Every year it will grow and I will get better with each story. Like the picture above, taken from the top of the San Jacinto Monument in Houston Tx, the horizon is endless and opportunities vast. I can’t wait to see what’s next for me.
