I had wanted to do more posts during the month, but sadly didn’t, but never fear I’m going to try and be a bit more regular during February – I hope.
For the last post of each month I thought I’d do a recap of the books I’ve read for the month. In January I read 11 books in total. Over the past year I’ve collected lots of books on my e-reader. You can load it up and before you know it you have nearly 100 books on it! So this month I’ve made a concerted effort to go back and read books I downloaded a year ago – whilst still buying books that are released at the beginning of the month – which I need to do tomorrow.
These are my books:
Kept for her Baby – by Kate Walker. A great, although sometimes frustrating book. A true Alpha male and I remembered why I love Presents books after reading this one!
The Greek Tycoon’s Inherited Bride by Lucy Munroe. This was a linked book with one I’d read of hers years ago. I was reading it in the car on the way back from Colorado. I had to dig out the brother’s book to revisit.
Back in the Spainards Bed by Trish Morey. One of my favourite Aussie authors. I really liked this book and wish I could write like Trish :).
Hired by her Husband by Anne McAllister. This was actually a January 2011 release. It brought me back to her linked Greek books involving the Antonides Family and Savas Family. I LOVE revisiting other family members and seeing new ones pop up.
The Virgin’s Proposition by Anne McAllister. See above comment except for release date. I really enjoyed this book and I read it in one day.
Savas’s Defiant Mistress by Anne McAllister. See above two comments. I’m now waiting for the next books involving these families. There are still a couple of brothers and sister’s of this extended family group that haven’t been explored.
Slow Hands by Lesley Kelly. This is a Blaze book and I haven’t read a Blaze for ages. I love Lesley’s writing. There was a mix up at a Bachelor Fundraiser. The last two bachelor’s biographies in the catalogue got mixed up. So of course I had to search her backlist and found the next book and have that sitting on my reader to read!
Speed Dating by Nancy Warren. This was a book in the NASCAR line of Harlequin. Loved, loved, loved it. Now going to search out more NASCAR books 🙂
Quarterback Daddy by Linda Barrett. I loved this book too. Another one day sitting to read this one. It featured a bit of a taboo hero – a sports star. Hero was the starting Quarterback for an NFL team, which so happened to be my favourite team – The New England Patriots. In the book they won the Superbowl. Sadly I read this book on the weekend that the Pats lost in the playoffs. My HEA in this year’s football season didn’t occur. At least it happened in my book.
Hard to Hold by Julie Leto and Meet me in Manhattan by Judith Arnold. Now the reason I’ve mentioned these two books together is that these stories are ‘reality based romances’, meaning they are based on real couples and their real life romances. I’d read one last year called Icing on the Cake by Alison Kent. All of these books are FABULOUS!! I don’t know what it is about them that made them so special, maybe because it was based on real life, but if you can search these out on Amazon I seriously recommend them. You can search our True Vows and you may find them too. There are some more due out this Spring. I will definitely be buying them!
So that’s my very long list of books for January. I recommend all of them, that is of course if you love romance. Or if you want to try something new and different from what you normally read, give them a go.
