In my last post I said that I had signed up for NaNoWriMo. I had wondered if by signing up all of a sudden I would feel the pressure and stop writing. You know that unconscious voice inside your head that tells you it’s an impossible target. There’s no possible way you can keep up that pace. You won’t be able to make 50,000 words. Or the kicker, you can’t write, every single word you put down is rubbish.
Well I’m pleased to say that over the last two days I’ve maintained my output level. That includes spending most of the last two days out doing things, so my writing time has been late afternoon and early evening. For the last two days my total word count has been 6,337.
I’m a bit shocked. I think working on two Manuscripts has been a big help. I alternate which one I start with. I also leave them in the middle of a scene so that I can get right into it.
So in the last 6 days I’ve written a grand total of 16,724 words. Now I just have to keep it up! At this rate I’ll have completed one, if not both stories.
