February Books

Well it’s the last day a February. I fear the year is going to float on by like a cloud on a windy day. Must remember to enjoy everyday and take a deep breath when things get too much. Oh and plan my day and time better. Hmm I always seem to be saying that one!

It was an interesting month with regards to the books I read.  I only read 4 in total.  Last month I managed 11. So what was so different this month? Well I found “Angry Birds” on the IPhone. Spent most of my evenings knocking down blocks of ice, wood and stone all to pop pigs and help the birds get their eggs back. I’ve completed all the levels at the moment and still no eggs back in the birds possession.  Well at least I don’t think so 🙂 It was fun but probably not the best way to spend the evenings.

I found it difficult to get into books this month. I started and stopped a couple. Went back and started again. I’m not saying the writing wasn’t good, I just wasn’t into books this month I think.  Or maybe because I was trying to lower by paperback TBR pile that I fell into a habit I can’t really do with the e-reader and that’s skimming through the book.

So the 4 books I managed to read were all on the e-reader.

The first one was “Da Silva’s Mistress” by Tina Duncan.  This was a Presents book and Tina’s debut.  I did enjoy it a lot. Tina is an Australian author. We’re starting to make our mark 🙂

The next book was “The Magnate’s Pregnancy Proposal” by Sandra Hyatt. This was Sandra’s second novel and I enjoyed it as much as her first. I really liked how the heroine evolved and let go of her mask.

The last two books I read were by Jules Bennett. Another new author.  They were “Seducing the Enemy’s Daughter” and “For Business or Marriage”. They were about two brothers. The first story was a revenge story and the second a boss/secretary scenario. Both had me hooked in the first couple of chapters.  The only thing I wanted to see more of the first brother in the second book.  There was only a short glimpse of him and from the first book I thought their relationship was pretty close as hero 1 spoke to his brother quite a bit. Not so much in the second book.  Another thing I’m hoping is that Jule’s writes the story of the heroine’s brother from the first book. Miles has me intrigued and I’d like to see him tamed.  I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on her website to see if she does.

Well that’s it for February. I plan to try and reduce my TBR pile as well as getting back into writing.
