‘If music be the food of love…’
Thanks so much for having me on your blog Nicole!
I don’t know if music is the food of love but for my heroine DJ CJ Stratt music (and giving relationship advice) is her biggest love. Being a radio DJ/ agony aunt she is able to combine the two.
I had a lot of fun making up playlists to go with this book. Mainly because, although I am not much of a music buff I admit, I do love listening to all genres of music from old school rock, to metal, classical music and pop and all that is in between. As part of my ‘research’ I dug into all my old mix tapes (I actually remember listening to DJs like CJ when tapes were still used and you could record straight from the radio) as well as looking on You Tube for those power ballad songs I remembered well and held lots of different sorts of memories for me.
For CJ, power ballads and romantic songs are her thing and what she mainly plays during her set so here are my top ten love songs:
What love songs would you put on your playlist and why? Comment to win a copy of my latest release ‘The Tycoon’s Wager’.
Here are the details about the book!

To boost ratings and save her radio show, agony aunt CJ Stratt has no choice but to agree to a publicity proposition from London’s renowned playboy Jack Harper. They’ll go on eight dates, which she’ll tweet about to prove he’s not the unreliable wastrel he’s been painted as in the press.
Jack’s desperate to squelch his irresponsible image to insure that the business deal that could make or break his career goes smoothly. He’s willing to do anything, including dating this quirky DJ with pastel-colored hair and a sassy mouth.
Jack knows seduction, but he has no idea how to love. Love is CJ’s business, yet she has never been seduced.
Somehow, this business just got personal …

As promised here is my review of Olivia Logan’s debut book “Urgent-One Nanny Required”
I was fortunate enough to receive a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
The title immediately made me think of the Mills & Boons books I used to read many years ago. I really enjoyed those books then, and I really enjoyed this story too.
Rania and Nick lit up the pages from their first scene together and with the added scenes with Nicki’s son Theo this was a fabulous story. No way did the scenes involving Theo detract from the story of Rania and Nick’s budding relationship.
The romance built slowly and you could believe the relationship between Rania and Nick. It’s not a steamy read but it’s a sensual read.
The story flowed from Rania’s sweet shop in the UK to the glamorous world of Hollywood fluidly and I enjoyed seeing a glimpse of Hollywood in the story.
I recommend this read for anyone who’s looking for a great escape.
Today I have the very lovely Olivia Logan visiting my blog today. She lives in England and has as cool an accent as me 😉 Olivia is a Crimson Romance Author and her debut “Urgent – One Nanny Required” is now available!! Take it away Olivia!!
I have always loved reading and used to love making up stories as a kid, especially my own version of Greek and Roman myths.
After reading my first romance as a teen I decided then and there that my life’s goal was to write a romance. Through writing ‘short’ romances ie a few A4 sides of papers as a teen, to writing book and film reviews at University, I decided that one day I would write something longer.
I am very curious by nature and love to people watch and got the idea for my story just by passing an old fashioned sweet shop in London and found myself wondering about the lives of the people who worked there. That kind of started my idea for my heroine in ‘Urgent:One Nanny Required’.
The idea of a single dad was actually inspired by one of my favourite story books written by Roald Dahl ‘Danny, The Champion Of The World’. In this book Danny, our young hero lives with his dad who is loving and kind and dotes on him completely. Not exactly the same as the father in ‘Urgent’. But before I digress onto telling you the plot of that story which ends happily, as a romantic I was always left wondering about the father. Did he ever remarry? Would he ever be persuaded to remarry? Hence the idea of our hero being a single parent.
The Hollywood idea actually came from a friend of mine who works in film who always complained that none of the heroes in romances ever have ‘real’ jobs! Like a Hollywood director is a real job! But after much ear bending I decided to listen to their views and make my hero have a ‘real’ job in Hollywood and by that I mean a ‘behind the scenes’ guy as opposed to a film star.
And voila, from all these ingredients ‘Urgent: One Nanny Required’ was born!
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

I have had the pleasure of reading Olivia’s book – stay tuned for a review. Here is the blurb for her fabulous book.
Hotshot Hollywood Director Nick Trenton, needed a nanny and fast. It certainly hadn’t helped that his son had run off all the others he had employed and with a big shoot coming up in LA for three weeks he was running out of options. Then along comes Rania George- sweet shop owner and one of the few people his son didn’t want to give the slip. Yes, she seemed to dislike him from the get-go, but he could work around that. He loved his son and would do anything to get the lovely Miss.George to say yes to his plan.
Rania was used to children hanging outside her sweet shop but seeing one alone on a dark night was a first. What sort of parent would let their child wander the streets at night!
That was until she met his Hollywood Director Father. No wonder his son was wandering the streets alone, his father was probably too self absorbed to notice. She’d learnt from an early age that anything Hollywood related was bad news. Okay so he was attractive but she had vowed from to stay away from anything, and she meant anything Hollywood. Not that it helped when his cute as a button son captured her heart so easily nor when she was being offered to babysit said son for a huge amount of money. Only catch was she had to fly to Hollywood and spend three weeks in the company of his devastatingly attractive father.
The question was after all her experiences with Hollywood, was she willing to risk it all…
