Wow did you see that? That was 2013 how quickly did it fly by? It seems like yesterday I was writing my recap and here I am again!
This year’s recap comes from New Orleans where we’re ringing in the New Year. Add another US State to the list of places we’ve visited while living here.
So what’s happened this year, well I released 3 books and signed 4 new contracts. Not a bad effort if I do say so myself. I’ve got 3 releases already set to come out in 2014 and the first one is New Years Day! How exciting. Yep Tango Love will hit the cyber shelves (well it’s already up for pre-order) on 1st January 2014. Then another one in February and one in May. I hope to add a few more to the list as well.
This year I attended my very first Romantic Times Booklovers Convention which was held in Kansas City – it snowed while I was there, just a little bit, but it was still snow. There I had my first signing which was pretty exciting.
I also attended the Romance Writers of Australia conference in my hometown of Perth where I also had my second signing. I was a bit more forthcoming in encouraging people to come and get postcards of my books and swag off me. I can’t wait to attend conferences next year.
It was also a year of meeting new people both authors and readers and reviewers which is always exciting. It’s so great to meet the people who take the time to read the words you put down. Twitter makes staying in touch with those people a lot easier too. I also had the privilege of meeting some of those wonderful people I chatted with on twitter in person. It was so wonderful to do that.
Our family holiday was to visit our family back in Perth. After three years of not seeing them it was a welcome break and it was over all too quickly too. It was also exciting to see how much the city has changed in the three years since I last visited. There was nothing nicer than spending time with the family and the kids catching up with their friends and cousins. The only downside of the trip is the extremely long flights. Sometimes I wish I had the tardis or Dorothy’s sparkling red shoes!
As the year draws to a close the focus turns to what I want to achieve for 2014. Well my goal is to get more books out for the world to read. As I mentioned I already have 3 stories coming out but I want a couple more if I can. I’ve got a plan for a new series and hope that I can sell it. I’m going to two conferences and I’m entering a couple of contests with one of my books. Hey I’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
I wish everyone a wonderful 2014 and thank you all for joining me on my journey this year and can’t wait for you to share all that I achieve in 2014 with me!
